W. H. Lung return with a brand new one-off single.

'Symmetry' takes you for a wander through their hometown of Manchester via scattered statues (Alan Turing, Friedrich Engels, Queen Victoria) whilst highlighting the massive homeless problem in the city.

Singer Joseph E. "There’s a statue of Alan Turing in a small park just off canal street in Manchester city centre. The statue has always struck me as odd, the face is quite childishly done and Turing seems to be offering his fruit to passers-by. People often sit with him and take pictures. The park is also regularly attended by the homeless community of Manchester. As visible a presence on the streets now as the statues of the great and famous."

The group will take 'Incidental Music' on a victory lap around the following dates late November:

9th November - Iceland Airwaves festival, Reykjavik
22nd November - Riverside, Newcastle
23rd November - Moles, Bath
24th November - Patterns, Brighton
25th November - Rich Mix, London
26th November - Academy 3, Manchester

lyrics

A body curled around a lamppost like a cigarette in light rain.
Something like a question mark is hanging between thumb and forefinger.
Alan Turing, give up the apple,
Alan Turing, give up the apple.
Head down, my love.

A body curled around a lamppost like a cigarette in light rain.
Something like a question mark is hanging between thumb and forefinger.
Friedrich Engels, wipe off your boots, man.
Friedrich Engels, wipe off your boots.
Don’t you think the sky looks particularly anaesthetised this evening?

Daddy, why is there a man asleep there?
Should I wake him?
Daddy, why is there a man asleep there?
Should I wake him up?
Victoria, covered in birds.
Victoria, covered in bird shit.
Head down, my love.

I walk around the public parks,
The princess is visiting.
And lining all the streets are
Glimpses of her sequined crown.

All the while, dog whistle.
Yeah, butter birds, new metal.
And the gutter’s full of fire now.
Yeah, change, change, the fire’s out.

A bear stuck on a zip wire.
And doesn’t he look amiable?
Just hanging in the atmosphere,
As the dust cloud settles.
As the dust cloud settles.
